WEBNOMOUS / BACKUP

Private owner-operated utility

Webnomous Encrypted Mail Backup

A utility for keeping encrypted mail-server archives and integrity checksums in the owner's Google Drive. This website explains the app and its data practices; it does not provide access to mail or backups.

What the utility is for

Mail-server archives are encrypted locally before transfer. Checksums help the owner check that downloaded encrypted files match the originals. Encrypted archives may contain personal mail and server configuration.

Limited Google Drive access

The intended authorization uses only drive.file. This workflow is limited to its own app-created backup files and the existing dedicated folder selected by the owner. It requests neither the Gmail API nor broad access to the owner's entire Drive.

Keys and local access

The recovery key is kept separate from uploaded archives. Local credentials are protected with restricted file access; this does not mean the credential files themselves are encrypted at rest.

Owner control

The owner can revoke the app's Google access. Revocation stops future authorized access but does not erase existing Drive files. This workflow does not automatically delete remote backups.
